Under the general supervision of the Tax Administrator I, Legislative Analysis Group (LAG), the Legislative Analyst will serve as a subject-matter expert providing complex legislative, programmatic and policy analysis for Tax Branch.
LAG is comprised of staff that perform highly complex and difficult work as technical experts with high degrees of judgement and knowledge.
The Legislative Analyst has a specialized knowledge of the Tax Branch's programs in order to analyze complex state and federal legislation, draft new legislative language, and coordinate Tax Branch Divisions program analysis to provide a recommendation to the Tax Branch Deputy Director and the Legislative & Intergovernmental Affairs Office (LIAO).
As a liaison for the Tax Branch, it is critical for the incumbent to meet/effectively communicate with Branch level administrators, the LIAO, the EDD Legal Office and may meet with bill sponsors, committee staff, or interested parties in the employer/employee community to present data and discuss EDD's concerns on sensitive legislation affecting EDD and State tax programs and policies.
"This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed.
