    Job DescriptionDescription:

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve as our Speech Department Lead for our awesome team at Whole Child Therapy. This is a full-time opportunity to lead a speech team of around 10 full-time speech staff and a number of part-time speech staff at our clinic in Claremont, CA.

    If you are an experienced clinician that has strong leadership skills and a desire to mentor and support a team, you might be the right fit for us. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) experience or other specialized skills is also a plus

    Job Description

    STAFF MANAGEMENT:

    • Provide leadership, management, and accountability for their clinical department to accomplish their job responsibilities.
    • Train and support their clinical department with their job duties and responsibilities as needed.
    • Provide mentorship for clinicians as needed.
    • Assist in the interviewing, onboarding, and training of new staff as needed.
    • Complete performance reviews and quarterly check-ins with their clinical department.
    • Communicate policy or process updates and changes to the department.
    • Coordinate between team members to support the team in caseload management of progress reports and/or re-evaluations that are due.

    DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT:

    • Document, modify, and implement departmental processes, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. Document and modify processes and procedures for efficient and effective therapy services.
    • Attend and participate in the leadership meetings twice a month.
    • Meet regularly with the clinical director regarding department needs and planning.
    • Plan agenda and run monthly department meetings and schedule staff training and inservices as needed.
    • Oversee the completion of routines to maintain smooth operations of the department such as taking inventory of assessment protocols, requests for therapy supplies and materials, and other similar tasks.
    • Collaborate with other department leads to foster a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

    PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT:

    • Identify opportunities for program expansion and improvement.
    • Develop and implement new therapy programs based on industry best practices and emerging trends.
    • Evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis and feedback mechanisms.

    CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Fulfill all of the roles and responsibilities of a clinic therapist.
    • Provide direct therapy services to pediatric patients, including assessment, treatment planning, and intervention.
    • Complete evaluations, re-evaluations, progress reports and daily SOAP notes in a timely manner.
    • Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in the field to inform clinical practice.
    • Act as a mentor to junior therapists, providing guidance on complex cases.

    Weekly Schedule Expectations:

    Regular Treatment Sessions - 20 hrs - 50%

    Plan Time - 5 hrs - 12.5%

    Evaluation Slots - 2 hrs - 5%

    Flex Time - 3 hrs - 7.5%

    Lead Time - 10 hrs - 25%

    Whole Child Therapy, Inc. is a pediatric therapy clinic owned and operated by a husband and wife occupational therapist couple, Dennis and Ina Necesito. After 20 years of experience as occupational therapists, Dennis and Ina decided to open their own practice so they could provide high quality therapy services using a whole child approach and innovative techniques. We opened our clinic doors in May 2018 with Dennis starting out as the sole employee. Today, Whole Child Therapy, Inc. is now serving over 1,000 clients a month with our amazing staff of over 60 members, including full-time and part-time therapists, therapy assistants, and office staff.

    Our core services include pediatric occupational therapy and speech therapy. Our specialty programs include feeding therapy, assistive technology and Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) services, and social skills programs. We serve children and their families at our clinic in Claremont, CA and in their homes in the surrounding areas in Southern California. We also serve students in several public school districts, charter schools, and non-public schools.

    Salary
    Clinic Department Lead Speech Language Pathologist
    Salary Range: $50.00 to $56.00 /hour

    Our therapists are paid at the same hourly rate regardless of client cancellations.

    • Licensed as an Speech Language Pathologist in California
    • At least 5 years experience with pediatric speech therapy
