    Basic Job Functions:


    The Product Ventures group at First Solar develops, manages, and executes strategy & partnerships for the launch, commercialization, and new-market entry of First Solar's existing and future products.

    The team is responsible for primary commercial and technical due diligence on high-profile, company-wide corporate development & innovation efforts.

    We are seeking a motivated analyst to support the day-to-day operations and priorities of the Product Ventures and broader Product Management teams, while also taking ownership and management of individual projects.

    A core focus of the Analyst will be to develop, own, and operate both financial and technical models to assess product competitiveness, valuation of product attributes, credits and incentives introduced under the Inflation Reduction Act, as well as business cases for new products, services, and companies for strategic, partnership, investment, or acquisition.

    Additional work will include building & managing relationships with 3 rd


    party customers & partners, managing project timelines & deliverables, developing strategy and insights around next-generation technology and applications, and general corporate development and product innovation projects.

    The Analyst will be working directly with 3 rd


    party consultants, external partners, First Solar executive leadership, as well as other cross-functional internal teams including Product Management, Business Development, Finance, R&D, & Engineering.


    Education/Experience:
    Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, computer science, economics, or a related field

    2-4 years' total work experience (Master's Degree can count for 1 year of experience)

    Prior experience in project finance, management consulting, investment banking, product management, entrepreneurship, or a technical sales role.

    Relevant experience in solar, renewables, or manufacturing industries is a plus.


    Required Skills/Competencies:
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written communication and presentation.

    Flexible and adaptable with a willingness to learn.

    Strong time management skills and ability to track and meet deadlines across multiple workflows simultaneously.

    Proficiency in financial modeling and accounting

    Ability to conduct market research and work with large sets of data to distill trends and insights.

    High business acumen & ability to engage with senior executives (internal/external)

    Demonstrates an analytical approach to problem solving.

    Highly proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs

    Additional technical skills in programming and/or ability to work with and build AI tools a plus.

    Understanding of solar/renewable energy policy a plus

    Existing relationships across the solar, renewable energy, and/or finance/investment space a plus

    Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

    Ability to travel within the US & Canada


    Essential Responsibilities:
    Develop and improve cost models to evaluate First Solar technology competitiveness with silicon products.

    Manage financial value analysis for products & projects to support technology decisions.

    Research, understand, and model impacts of different policies on product costs (IRA, AD/CVD, etc.)

    Build tools to summarize 3 rd

    party market intelligence and supply chain data.

    Run due diligence on new innovation strategies, startup engagements, partnership opportunities.

    Maintain up-to-date information databases & models using the latest partner feedback and market reports.

    Create & lead presentations on product strategy, competitiveness, and opportunities.

    Support and manage engagements with consultants, partners, and customers.

    Represent the team on virtual and in-person meetings & conferences to build partner relationships.

    Lead cross-functional efforts across product management, business development, engineering, and other teams.

    Reporting Relationships:
    This position reports to the Manager – Product Ventures, within the Product Management Organization

    This position will require mentorship and possible direct reporting of interns throughout the year.

    Travel:

    10% - 20%


    Estimated Annual Salary Range:
    $59,000 - $80,000 Estimated Annual Salary
