    About The Role

    ADVANO is seeking a Battery Technician to contribute to the assembly of lithium-ion cells of various technologies (i.e. silicon anode, solid/polymer electrolyte, HV-cathode, etc). The occupant of this position will work in a small team of engineers on battery engineering and R&D projects. These projects may focus on the coin and pouch-cell assembly. Qualified applicants will have prior hands-on experience in the field of batteries.

    Essential Functions

    Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Performing tasks including electrode preparation, delicate assembly of coin cells and cell dissection and running cell tests
    Working with battery engineers on coin/pouch-cell assembly
    Documenting electrode fabrication and cell build data
    Building a variety of Li-ion cell prototypes including coin cells, pouch cells, and cylindrical cells
    Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment
    Maintaining inventory by checking stock; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies
    Preparing and mixing of electrode materials with conductive additives and a polymer binder to form a slurry with the proper rheology
    Executing continuous improvement projects focused on batch size scale-up and aqueous binders
    Manufacturing of electrodes using roll to roll coating

    Required Education And Experience

    High school diploma required. (Bachelor's degree preferred)
    2-5 years of work experience in a battery industry field preferred
    Prior experience in Li-ion cell builds, including cell assembly and familiarity with quality control methods used to evaluate the repeatability of assembly processes
    Hand on experience in the glove box/dry room preferred
    Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining cell build equipment
    Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time and perform hand intensive assembly of batteries
    Excellent oral and written English language skills required
    Excellent problem-solving capability required
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills with cross-functional teams
    Interpersonal traits to work effectively and lead others
    Has a do-whatever-it-takes attitude, thrives in a fast-paced start up environment, and is capable of delivering project deliverables on time
