    Description

    Our Client, An Automotive Engineering Company, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Clearwater, FL

    Pay: $42.85/hour

    ***This is a 14 Month Contract with the Opportunity to Convert or Extend at any Time***

    As the Mechanical Engineer, you will design functional, reliable and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components. Perform engineering analysis and design/ re-design, and development of components into existing and new vehicles.

    The team currently building modular body vehicles using the same general design since the 1980's. They are doing a refresh to lighten the vehicles, simplify them, and make them better suited for manufacturing.

    You will help build new standardized modular vehicle pieces.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
    • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
    • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical
    • issues.
    • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
    • Perform and Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
    • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
    • Provide non-complex technical assistance for production support.
    • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
    • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
    • Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.
    • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication.

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
    • Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.
    • Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.
    • Experience with a high level CAD system.
    • knowledge of hydraulic is helpful
    • solidworks and draftsite or autocad
    • fea analysis is a plus
    • sheet metal design, formed parts, custom extrusions all a plus.
