- Safety & Protection Engineering degree or related degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- At least five years of relevant fire protection design or consulting experience
- PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in multiple states
- Designing and specifying fire suppression systems
- Designing and specifying fire alarm systems
- Performing life safety code review
- Mentoring less experienced staff
- International Building Code, NFPA Standards and Uniform Facility Criteria

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include leading the design of automatic fire alarm, detection and suppression systems; preparing plans and specifications for bidding and construction; performing calculations and code analysis; mentoring less experienced staff in the execution of designs; conducting periodic construction site inspections.
