• Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher
• Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities
• Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and makeup work as assigned by the teacher
• Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teacher
• Ability to support students with social, emotional, and behavior needs

Qualifications:

• An Associate's Degree or higher or Workkey's Proficiency Certificate for Teacher's Assistants required. Must have met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate (through a formal State or local academic assessment) knowledge of the ability to assist in instructing, as appropriate.
• Ability to work effectively with students and staff
• Excellent computer skills for student assistance
• Demonstrated aptitude, training, or skill specific to the assistant position

Working Conditions:

A, $15.08 hr, full time-school year position
