    Job Highlights

    SUMMARY

    Responsible for overseeing all production, safety, quality, maintenance, and personnel of the plant on required shift.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is not all inclusive and may include other duties as necessary.

  • Coordinates flow of work through the various departments to ensure efficiency, quality and achievement of company's goals and objectives.
  • Participates and supports monthly safety meetings, recommended safety training and enforces safety regulations. Thoroughly investigates accidents and safety issues.
  • Directs employees performing routine, repetitive or processing operations to ensure conformance to schedules and quality requirements.
  • Meets with the Area Coordinators and reviews the shift transfer sheet for each production line noting the necessary changes for each department.
  • Assures an adequate amount of materials to be used on the lines.
  • Answers all questions concerning production, quality and safety.
  • Acts as a liaison between all of the different departments and management.
  • Updates and offers the material requests to the technical, maintenance and tooling departments.
  • Oversees the entire plant and ensures that all vacancies are covered in an economical manner.
  • Print pallet tags and specification packages and distribute to the lines.
  • Prepares and reviews training needs assessments with hourly employees.
  • DEVELOPMENTAL SKILLS

    In order to successfully perform this job, an individual must obtain certain skills, which will allow him/her to enhance the necessary work performance in relation to the essential duties and responsibilities.

    It is essential that this individual possess the following skills. He/she must communicate effectively to both management and subordinates, handle many different tasks at once, and make accurate decisions.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • As a supervisor or manager at CCL Industries, one must present his/herself in a professional manner at all times. This includes treating others with respect by not verbally abusing them in front of others, being tactful in confrontations and continually developing the staff that works with and for them. The responsibilities for this job includes the following:
  • Directly supervises employees in the Production Department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • COMPUTER SKILLS

    To successfully perform the duties of this job, an individual must be able to have an understanding of Microsoft Office and AS-400. These may include Excel, Access, PowerPoint and/or Word.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    A BS Degree and 5 plus years of manager experience preferably in a manufacturing environment, is required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, hands or feet. The employee is occasionally required to sit, twist/turn, stoop/bend, squat and perform overhead work. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet humid or cold conditions, moving mechanical parts, chemicals and extreme heat.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to loud depending on work location.
