Caledonia Central School District, Caledonia Central Supervisory Union and Waterford School

Caledonia Central Supervisory Union (CCSU), Caledonia Central School District (CCSD), and Waterford School seek a Principal for the upcoming school year. The position starts on July 1, 2026, and is year-round.

Waterford Elementary School is a PK-8 school nestled between St. Johnsbury, VT, and Littleton, NH. Waterford School is a supportive and dynamic learning environment in a town that strongly supports its elementary school.

Our Mission

It is the mission of the Caledonia Central Supervisory Union and its seven member schools to create a learning community in which each individual can achieve the highest standards of excellence in intellectual growth and citizenship.

About Waterford School

At Waterford, we design and implement high-quality instruction that is relevant to students' lives and encourage them to take an active role in guiding their education. We live our values of respect, responsibility, and perseverance through a project-based pedagogy that strongly emphasizes authenticity, culture and relationships, curiosity, creativity, and design.

We strive to ensure that all students are engaged and active learners within a culture of inclusion that values them as contributing members of our school community. We approach students through a lens of inquiry, honoring their voices, questions, curiosity, and creativity. We see school as an extension of our broader local and global communities, where students have the opportunity to grapple with questions that matter both locally and globally, becoming active and engaged citizens.

We prepare students to be leaders and contributors to their communities, and we ask educators to help them create high-quality, rigorous, and relevant work. Barnet School is known for student leadership and innovation in school-wide implementation of interdisciplinary, proficiency-based graduation requirements, transferable skills, and Positive Behavior Intervention & Support practices.

If you are our next principal, you are committed to student voice and leadership, as well as to cultivating respectful and supportive relationships with students. You have a background in interdisciplinary teaching and learning and an interest in helping students and staff design and implement high-quality instruction to foster engaged learning. You are dedicated to supporting and empowering staff.

You are a divergent thinker, thought partner, coach, and problem solver comfortable exploring "out-of-the-box" solutions. You have strong leadership and communication skills, and you develop/depend on teacher-leadership. You are a data-driven decision-maker who seeks input from teachers, staff, and the community and uses that input to inform your daily work. You set goals based on surveys, assessments, and student learning to improve the school's learning culture, align resources, and make decisions focused on your school's improvement goals.

Principals in CCSU are members of a leadership team comprising all principals and administrators in the SU and work together to address the SU's wider administrative needs.
