Reliability Engineer
to provide leadership and support at our Newark plant site in
Newark, DE .
This position provides the technical expertise on all matters of Maintenance Excellence, assessment, and monitoring for all process equipment (including mechanical, electrical and instrument / control equipment).
Carries out studies on existing equipment and recommends needed improvements to Operations management in equipment maintenance including philosophies, strategies, and best maintenance practices for asset productivity.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Provides technical support for site Maintenance and Operations personnel.
Monitor equipment performance and trouble shoot equipment problems.
Developing strategies, proposals, improvement programs and control plans to address identified maintenance process gaps.
Provide leadership, coaching, and support to area technicians in
preventative-predictive
maintenance programs (lubrication, vibration, thermography, etc.)
Provide technical guidance/coaching for routine maintenance activities, as needed.
Work with maintenance supervision, planners, and mechanics to develop equipment repair procedures.
Calculate/Provide appropriate metrics and KPIs to area and site to drive
excellence/improvement
in Maintenance processes such as the
Big Ten:
%PPM non-Compliance, Scheduling Efficiency, % Planned, etc.
Provide guidance & develop capability of mechanics on their role in Maintenance, Reliability improvement and MIQA.
Support implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) by identifying and supporting autonomous maintenance done by operators, where appropriate.
Support capital projects by participating in equipment selection and layout to optimize "maintainability".
Promoting consistency by standardizing equipment and providing technical expertise for installation, check-out, maintenance procedures and start-up of all new critical equipment.
Support identification and set-up of necessary spare parts for new and existing equipment.Serve as a member of the area Reliability Improvement Team.
Apply engineering theory, practices, and principles to perform failure analysis, such as RCFA and 5-Why, to determine root cause of equipment failures and conduct equipment performance evaluations.
Actively participate in maintenance and reliability networks and share best practices, successes, and failures.Leverage network learnings to improve Reliability at the plant
site.
Actively seek personal development and continuing education opportunities.
Utilize professional organizations (e.g., SMRP) and reliability conferences to keep current on and evaluate new and emerging technologies for their applicability back at the plant site.
Provide Reliability Leadership, coaching, and support to area production personnel related to early work identification, Standard Operating Procedures, and practices impacting general/overall machine health.
Continually promote consistency by standardizingprocedures/equipment/operations
within area of
responsibility.
Support of mechanical turn-around/shutdown teams providing input and leadership into needed equipment inspection and repair procedures, particularity rotating equipment.
Identify and support training needs for maintenance technicians and others supporting Reliability and Maintenance functions.
Basic Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred, with a minimum of 3-5 years industrial maintenance experience.
Data analysis techniques and statistical interpretation skills.
Systematic decision making, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to plan, prioritize and implement multiple concurrent projects/initiatives.
Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written communication) with the ability to act as a "Change Agent" to
influence/collaborate
with leaders, peers, and technicians.
Ability to build, lead, and work as a team member is a respectful manner in a diverse work environment.
Project Management, leadership, planning and organization experience.
Advanced personal computer skills and Maintenance systems knowledge (CMMS).
Familiarity with petro chemical production equipment including tanks, vessels, piping, pumps, compressors, fans, valves.
Familiarity with Reliability analytical tools (e.g., Weibull analysis, reliability growth plots), Reliability tools (e.g., FMEA), and failure analysis techniques (e.g., RCFA) with ability to lead an RCFA team.
Understanding of Cost/Capital analysis and justification processes.Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and the tools associated with failure detection (i.e., vibration analysis, oil monitoring, and thermography) as well as the software associated with them.
Able to navigate and extract information and data from SAP-PMFamiliarity with Industry and Corporate Codes.
Strong knowledge of and ability to train technicians on their role in the Maintenance Work Management Process.
Familiar with rotating equipment and alignment techniques.
Vibration analysis and interpretation of vibration analysis results.
Fundamentals of nondestructive testing including thermography.
Familiar with overall Work Management Process including work identification, planning, scheduling, accomplishment, work documentation, maintenance materials management.
