    STATEMENT OF DUTIES

    General Statement Of Duties:
    This position is located in the Human Resources Division of the State Court Administrator's Office (SCAO) and is responsible for work related to the administration of the Judicial Department's payroll operation and the Judicial Department statewide leave reporting system.

    Distinguishing Factors:
    This classification is distinguished from other classifications due to the concentration on Department-wide payroll and personnel information tracking and management, and administration of the Department's leave and time reporting system. Positions in this classification will process payroll and provide payroll support for multiple districts, as well as assist in the development of policies, procedures, and systems regarding payroll operations for the Judicial Department.

    ***This position will be open until filled after meeting the minimum five day requirement with a first review date of Friday, May 10, 2024 and then every five days thereafter.****

    The Human Resources division is looking to add an innovative and forward thinking payroll analyst to our team. The successful applicant must thrive in a fast paced environment while maintaining accurate and timely payroll processes. The payroll team is committed to serving the state of Colorado Court and Probation employees and is responsible for processing payroll, leave and timekeeping for the department's four thousand employees. We are excited to welcome a new team member who will be an integral contributor to the evolution of the payroll processes and systems.

We work with each employee individually to identify what works best for them personally while balancing business needs. Some in-office time is required as the business needs demand, and in-person time on the front end will be used for training purposes, but a balanced hybrid schedule will be developed.

    Salary offers are based on a wide variety of factors including a candidate's experience, skills, and education, as well as budget availability. The full salary range for this position is $4, $6,472.00 per month. The hiring range for this position is $4, $5,614.00 per month. Salary growth within the job classification is based on performance awards, salary survey increases, etc.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Performs data entry and documentation related to the preparation of Judicial Department payroll. Applies personnel rules, policies, procedures and laws as they relate to the preparation of payroll for the Judicial Department. Assists in the development of policies, procedures, and systems regarding payroll operations for the Colorado Judicial Department. Troubleshoots payroll related problems and issues, and resolves them in collaboration with supervisor, other SCAO personnel, and the judicial districts, as applicable. Reviews documentation and requests from within SCAO and from districts for data entry of payroll or personnel related actions; processes requests in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assists in the preparation of reports and compilation of data. Assists in the administration and troubleshoots potential issues of the Judicial Department time reporting system. Assists in developing and providing training programs concerning payroll related issues and topics for Judicial Department personnel. Occasional statewide travel may be required. Attends meetings and training as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Supervisor Responsibilities:
    No formal supervisory responsibility. Responsibility for one's own work product and work within a unit performing similar functions. Occasionally provides lead function, advice, or explains work instructions to other employees or volunteers.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Education:
    Minimum of two years course work at an accredited college or university in the field of finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources, or related field plus two years of office experience. An additional two years of office experience may be substituted for the required formal education.

    Physical Demands:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to perform repetitive motions, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    Work Environment:
    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May handle emergency or crisis situations; is subject to many interruptions; may handle multiple calls and inquiries simultaneously; and may occasionally handle absentee replacement on short notice.
