    Description

    Mosquito Abatement Technician

    This position is responsible for implementing the mosquito abatement program, working with fellow employees and citizens to ensure a safe environment. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively in a dynamic team setting.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Implement mosquito breeding site inspections, larva collections, larvicide applications and adult surveillance through light trap collections and landing rate counts.
    • Serve as team lead for part-time spray truck operators.
    • Service spray trucks with insecticide and fuel.
    • Work with various pesticides.

     


    Requirements:



    • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred; classes will be offered to those interested in pursuing a diploma.   
    • A valid driver's license for South Carolina required.
