Job summary
Provides direct supervision and work direction of all technical personnel on all shifts working in Pathology, Microbiology, chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank and Phlebotomy.Evaluates request for bedside testing instrumentation based on medical necessity, cost and efficiency. Evaluates work performance of all technical staff POC writes annual performance reviews resolves employee conflict or personnel problems acting as impediments to a high level of departmental morale.Maintains currency in new methodologies emerging technologies field laboratory science evaluates current future technical needs departments evaluates instrumentation meet these needs negotiates instrument pricing with vendors performs financial analysis implementation provides appropriate levels employee recognition will assume assigned duties Director during periods absence.
