Duties

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
Functions as the Designated Education Officer for Education at the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS). Designated Education Officer for Education (DEO) is a critical leadership position. The DEO is responsible for operational and
strategic oversight of VA professional training programs and trainees, including medical students, medical residents, and fellows associated health trainees and other healthcare professional training programs.
This position is critical to supporting the VA's core mission of educating health professionals and the medical center's commitment to quality education.
Candidates should have a
background in medical education, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, The DEO reports to the Chief of Staff and may act on behalf of the Chief of Staff under appropriate delegation of authority when he/she is unavailable.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm. (Subject to change based on agency needs.)
