- Apply client and departmental design guidelines and/or drafting standards in daily work assignments with guidance from senior staff
- Ensure that layer names, line types, text sizes, and drawing arrangements are in accordance with standards as set forth on the Project
- Lead projects from start to finish
- Manage budget and schedule for the project's resources and deliverables
- Participate in or lead squad check drawing package reviews
- Plan own daily work and the work of other team members
- Be able to read, interpret, and check vendor drawings and vendor catalogs
- Travel independently to and conduct site surveys to document electrical, instrumentation, and controls at existing client sites and facilities (~ 5% of time)
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Registered Professional Engineer - P.E. License is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of building and energy codes
- Working knowledge of industry standards: UL, API, NFPA, IEEE, IES, Energy Codes (ASHRAE), etc.
- Proficient with power system studies using EasyPower, SKM or ETAP
- Proficient with specifying, designing installations, & protective relay settings for medium voltage electrical equipment (motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC, VFDs)
- 480 V and below power electrical equipment:
- (switchgear, MCC, transformers, VFDs, etc.) and calculations: Conduit Fill, Cable Tray Fill, Voltage Drop, Transformer Sizing, Neutral Sizing, GEC sizing, Feeder/Conductor Sizing, Panelboard Sizing, Sizing Lighting Loads, Overcurrent Protection Device sizing, Motor controls, Lighting and lighting controls, Grounding, Fire alarm systems, etc.

- creating drawings and documents from scratch or site surveys such as: wiring diagrams, electrical interconnects, panel layouts, junction box design, plot plans, loop diagrams, cable/conduit schedules, panelboard schedules, electrical installation details
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent mentoring skills to help train less experienced designers and engineers.
