- Active participation in collaborative practice model with multiple Hepatologists, other APPs, nursing staff and care coordinators.
- Assess, interpret, and integrate findings to determine appropriate diagnostic, educational, and therapeutic management plans for individuals with acute and chronic liver conditions, including some pre/post-transplant outpatient care.
- Coordinate and facilitate communications surrounding laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein which may include patient care and coordination via telehealth or virtual platforms; intermittent delivery of research participant patient care; and/or possible coverage of external outreach clinics.

- Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Master s degree or higher required
- Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
- Board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC
- Two years of experience in inpatient or outpatient gastroenterology preferred but not required
- BLS required

The Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Department of Internal Medicine, Section on Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking a full-time Outpatient Advanced Practice Provider to join our growing Heaptology (Liver Care) team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have previous liver care experience in a liver transplant center or previous experience working with gastroenterology and/or hepatology patient populations. The candidate will spend the majority of their time working in clinical settings in a team environment at locations near Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
