    General Description of Position

    This is a full time, exempt position, with general hours of Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM. May be required to work hours outside of the general schedule as necessary to complete and present audit reports.

    Performs a senior level of professional work within an assigned area of responsibility that relates to conducting full scope governmental audits within Citrus County.

    Full scope audits include conducting risk assessments, developing audit plans, conducting fieldwork, reporting findings, preparing work papers and final reports, and conducting follow up audits.

    The senior internal auditor may be designated as the Auditor in Charge and is responsible for training,

    guiding, overseeing, and evaluating the day-to-day work product of assigned projects.

    This class reports directly to the Chief Deputy of the department and follows the Clerk's standard operating procedures and policies

    Requirements

    Relevant Bachelor's Degree Required


    Preferred current credentials (or commit to obtaining): Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO).

    Background in Information Technology would be advantageous

    Must have at least 3 years of relevant work experience, including, but not limited to, accounting, IT, Auditing, and Fraud Investigation

    Tasks require public speaking and interaction

    Tasks require visual perception and differentiation, as well as excellent oral and written communications ability using English language

    Must have the ability to write complex articles and develop presentations for a wide range of audiences

    Must have the ability to compose original reports, training and other written materials, using proper language, punctuation, grammar and style

    Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy as consequences of mistakes can be moderately serious and can result in serious consequences to citizens (i.e., unwarranted arrests, extended time in jail, financial and legal implications, etc.)

    Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, while concentrating on repetitious or complex tasks

    Must maintain confidentiality at all times of information related to work product

    Considerable skill, adeptness, and speed in use of fingers, hands or limbs in performing tasks

    Must possess a valid drivers' license

    Must successfully pass a background investigation including criminal record, driving record, prior employment reference checks and skills assessment

    Must be drug free and comply with the Drug Free policy
