    Job DescriptionSalary:

    Baldwin & Shell Construction Company is searching for an experienced Superintendent - Building Envelope Specialist who will thrive in our Central Arkansas team.

    The Superintendent - Building Envelope Specialist plays a key role in the implementation and quality control of building envelope systems and weatherization for our construction projects. The Superintendent - Building Envelope Specialist reports directly to the General Superintendent and works closely with our Project Superintendents, Trade Partners, Architects and Engineers.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee building envelope construction phases; field observations, inspections, documentation and responses to non-compliant work.
    • Conduct on-site quality assurance / quality control observations of work in progress.
    • Provide enclosure design recommendations that minimize failures and increase human comfort, durability, and energy efficiency for new buildings and renovations.
    • Complete on-site failure investigations, condition assessments, evaluate problematic conditions such as water intrusion, air leakage, unknown moisture mitigation and system failures.
    • Complete pre-construction design reviews, identify issues, and recommend changes.
    • Meet with Superintendents to provide training and guidance on building envelope requirements and best practices.
    • Direct and supervise job site activities.
    • Keep track of project progress and budgets.
    • Supervise staff, provide work direction and constructive feedback.
    • Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance.
    • Resolve on-site issues and emergencies.
    • Follow and enforce established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean jobsite.
    • Complete projects on time and on budget.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • At least ten (10) years of commercial construction experience as a Superintendent required.
    • At least five (5) years of waterproofing, weatherization, building envelope systems experience required.
    • Advanced knowledge of principles and best practices of building envelope systems, building materials, field investigation methods, and construction principles as they relate to building enclosure performance.
    • Knowledge and understanding of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites.
    • Ability to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
    • Have an in-depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
    • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
    • Must be self-driven, motivated and possess the ability to work effectively and independently.
    • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
    • Must be available to work overtime, possibly including weekends as needed.
    • Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
    • Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Baldwin & Shell standards and processes.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certifications preferred but not required:
      • REWC – Registered Exterior Wall Consultant
      • RRC – Registered Roof Consultant
      • RWC – Registered Waterproofing Consultant
      • RRO – Registered Roof Observer
      • REWO – Registered Exterior Wall Observer
      • ABAA Air Barrier Installer or Air barrier Auditor
