    Flaget Memorial Hospital is a 52-bed facility located in Bardstown, Kentucky. Founded in 1951 by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, the hospital is nationally recognized for orthopedic care, surgical care, and inpatient satisfaction.

    Responsibilities

    Job Summary / Purpose

    The Respiratory Therapist II is a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with expertise in respiratory care for all age groups. They play a vital role in the respiratory care team and uphold the organization's values.

    Essential Key Job Responsibilities

    • Plans and administers respiratory therapies.
    • Manages oxygen therapy and aerosolized medication.
    • Performs airway management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
    • Conducts pulmonary function testing and arterial blood samples analysis.
    • Provides patient education and serves as a preceptor when needed.
    • Attends meetings, participates in committees, and assists in research projects.
    • Carries out respiratory care procedures independently post orientation.
    • Completes critical care competencies if needed.
    • Other duties assigned by the manager.

    Qualifications

    Required Education for Staff Job Levels
    At a minimum, a degree in Cardiopulmonary Services or Respiratory Care is required.

    Required Licensure and Certifications
    The incumbent must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by NBRC and licensed by the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care. BLS certification from AHA is mandatory.

    Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    The incumbent should have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills, along with proficiency in time management and Microsoft Office applications. Fluency in English and knowledge of EHR systems are essential.

    Preferred Qualifications
    No prior respiratory care experience is necessary, but critical care experience is preferred.
