    The Emergency Department at Hartford Hospital is responsiblefor treating a wide variety of patients, from basic ailments to the mostcomplex traumas, at our Level-I Trauma Center.

    This unit has some the highestacuity in the region, requiring our nurses to think and act quickly to meet thevarying needs of our patients.

    Comprised of 109 beds, the unit is subdividedinto different pods, including the Purple Pod for Behavioral Health patientsand Red Pod for the most severe cases.

    We are also a primary stroke and cardiaccenter.

    Successful healthcare providers on this unit are highly skilled, agileand resilient; with the ability to work together to make sure we have a safeenvironment and provide the highest level of satisfaction to our staff andpatients.


    Job Summary:


    Supervises a large work group to ensure that a high quality,cost-effective product or service is delivered in support of the hospital'sstrategic plan.

    Performs within the department's goals and objectives.
    Maintains effective, positive customer service relationships by responding tocustomer needs, resolving conflicts, and educating employees on customerservice.

    Effectively and continually communicates with the staff, management,and customers to facilitate the flow of information necessary to the success ofthe employees and the work group.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree and/or appropriate certification required.
    ACLS, PALS, TNCC and CEN preferred
    At least 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
    1 years of experience leading employees in an emergency care setting
    Strong communications skills required - both written, verbal and public speaking/teaching.
