QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
High school diploma
One-year of event experience serving as an AV Technician, or one-year of general experience working with events, or one-year of IT or computer experience, or a combination of work experience in one of the content areas mentioned.
Preferred:
Associate degree in audio-visual technology or related field, and industry-standard professional certifications(s)
Two-years of experience supporting events and A/V needs
Functional knowledge of Windows and or Macintosh computers
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
Valid driver's license

Position Type & Work Schedule:
Full-time, 12 months
38 hours per week, Monday-Saturday
Perform duties outside of regular hours as required to support evening, weekend, and holiday, events
Overtime hours may be required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
Knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, diagram design, or related software
Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and methods related to audio/video technology equipment
Knowledge of computer hardware software, cabling, terminations, cable testing, and networking basics

May be required to drive to other locations to support departmental needs
Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy (at least 25 pounds) amounts of weight
May transport or move furniture, and equipment for set-up

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
Works proactively under general supervision to support the conference and event center, at Arizona Western College. This position works to enhance business processes by supporting audio-visual technology needs at conferences, and events. This position is unique and requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Serves Students.
Provides Audio/visual technology support for AWC internal and external customer events, supports clients, and enhances events, at the Yuma Campus.
May support multiple events per day.
Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots various equipment including but not limited to sound systems, soundboards, microphones, projectors, screens, lighting, broadcasting, livestreaming, social media, and other platforms and trends.
Basic functional support of computers used at events, including but not limited to the display of videos, images, and PowerPoints.
Works with conference and event staff to understand business processes, develops productive relationships with clients, and proactively seeks ways of providing added value to customers.
Accepts and is responsible for audio-visual equipment technology and its use in the conference and events center, and other areas on the Yuma campus.
Assign events and responsibilities to part-time or other AV staff. Helps coordinate workload with part-time employees to accommodate customer and event needs.
Coordinates with technology department and staff, as needed, for equipment issues and upgrades. Proactively seeks to develop a better understanding of technology solutions used to support Conferences and Events.
Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
