Job SUMMARY

The Automation Engineer I will be responsible for identifying and developing automation technologies and manufacturing control systems to improve site productivity and quality and safety performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify opportunities for automation improvements to Manufacturing productivity, quality, and EHS (environmental, health, and safety), including technology options, vendor id
• Support a project team with automation equipment and control system design, including development of system and user requirements, laboratory testing, vendor management and qualification, and integration activities, entification, and project business cases.
• Creation of technical documentation for new automation equipment and control systems, including component and equipment specifications and validation and operational documentation.
• Develop into Subject Matter Expert (SME) for automation technologies related to the development of new products and Manufacturing processes to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Lifecycle management of new or existing on-site control systems.
• Provide technical support to all Manufacturing control system related issues, including troubleshooting and optimization.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies (includes Licenses, Credentials)

• Knowledge of robotics and robot programming.
• Knowledge of AI and machine learning applications.
• Experience automation software and testing.
• Familiarity with cloud computing databases and technologies.
• Ability to perform software testing and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and innovative thinking to develop and implement untested solutions.
• Understanding of general mathematics and basic statistical analysis.
• Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to interface at specific levels of business environments regarding technical content in a clear and easy-to understand way.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively; ability to concurrently handle multiple project assignments.
• Experience with Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project and Visio.
