    Business Manager – Boston, MA – To $115k d/o/e

    Responsibilities include:
    ·

    Develop and execute the operating plan in conjunction with the Chair and the Executive Committee.

    Responsible for drafting an operating plan for the Boston office that will meet the goals as outlined by the Executive Committee.

    This should address all key aspects of the section activity:
    financial, staffing, membership, volunteer recruitment, education, and training.
    ·

    Manages and maintains relationships and communications. Serves as the main POC for over a dozen standing and ad-hoc committees of the Boston office. Recruit volunteers for these committees. Responsible for maintaining a program to actively recruit additional volunteers as needed.
    ·

    Steward of the Governance Process.

    Ensures proper rules, policies, and procedures of the company are maintained at all times for section-level meetings and assists chapter sub-units of the same.

    ·

    Directs Business Operations of the unit. Ensure the Boston office operates following proper business procedures and maintains financial integrity.

    Will report status to the Executive Committee on the current and forecast status of the business operations of the office and make recommendations when needed.

    ·

    Enhances revenue.

    Will be required to identify areas where revenue can/should be enhanced to fulfill the goals of the Boston office and its operating plan.

    Will work in conjunction with multiple standing committees of the Boston office to identify these areas make recommendations to the Executive Committee and implement the policies of the Executive Committee
    ·

    Identifies unit staffing requirements.

    Will assess the requirements for staffing the Boston office office including its evening and weekend lecture series staffing needs as well as the staffing needs for the multiple conferences the Boston office manages for itself and other sub-units.

    ·

    Enhances communication with the unit membership. Charged to maintain ongoing communication with the unit membership.

    Will be responsible for continuing current methods of communication (managing editor of paper newsletter, email blasts, and website) and identifying new methods to further enhance the unit membership and create a more engaged relationship between the office and the member.

    ·

    Formulates - 3 year plan for unit for revenue forecasts.

    Will be required to strategize to draft revenue/expenses forecasts up to 3 years in the future to maintain the financial integrity of the Boston office.


    Requirements include:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
    Consideration may be given to non-degreed. Candidates with individuals whose experience and credentials are considered equivalent.


    • 4-7 years of relevant experience in management roles, with responsibility for profit-loss
    • Experience drafting and managing budgets, and cash flow analysis, including Financial Management and Annual Reporting
    • Experience in not-for-profit organization management preferred.
