    This crucial role involves overseeing development staff activities related to multifamily loan underwriting and construction lending for various multifamily loan products that aid in preserving and developing affordable rental housing throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Reporting to the Director of Rental Housing Programs, the Assistant Director is responsible for establishing short-term and long-term strategic plans aligned with the organization's goals. The role serves as the primary contact for managing daily development group operations, focusing on policy development, documentation, portfolio, and pipeline analysis. Additionally, the Assistant Director attends events like ground breakings, ribbon cuttings, and stakeholder meetings.


    To excel in this position, you should have:

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Real Estate, or equivalent
    • In-depth knowledge of commercial mortgage underwriting and lending platforms, with extensive experience in managing multifamily programs
    • Experience with affordable housing lending programs such as LIHTC, HUD Programs, or local/state programs
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills for team management
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and collaborate internally
    • Effective negotiation, communication, and persuasion skills
    • Experience in policy development and process documentation
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel overnight as necessary

    This position will close on 6/10/2024, with a Market Range-11 (Hiring Range $137,148 - $178,292). Applicants must undergo background, driving, and credit checks as part of the hiring process.
