Are you a Senior Materials/Metallurgical Engineer looking to step into a management role immediately and be mentored by an experienced VP within a niche industry, with a clear long-term path toward Director-level responsibility?

This is a rare succession-planning opportunity within a long-established metal manufacturing business that continues to grow and expand into new markets. You will be mentored one-on-one by a highly experienced VP, learning the operation end-to-end while gradually taking on increasing managerial and strategic responsibility.

The company is a metal manufacturer with over 100 years of history, known for long employee tenure, strong internal promotion, and a collaborative corporate culture. They invest heavily in training and are committed to developing future leaders from within.

In this role, you will start as the technical authority for metallurgy and materials, while progressively moving into people leadership, operational oversight, and strategic decision-making. Long term, this position is designed to evolve into a Director and VP-level role as the business continues to scale.

This role would suit a Senior Metallurgist or Materials Engineer who wants to move beyond a purely technical position and into leadership, while remaining closely connected to the manufacturing floor and technical decision-making.

    The Role:

    • Act as the senior technical authority for metallurgy, alloys, and materials processing
    • Work directly alongside the current VP (retiring June) as part of a structured succession plan
    • Gradually assume responsibility for manufacturing operations, people leadership, and process oversight
    • Support alloy development, process improvements, and technical problem-solving for internal and external customers
    • Manage and develop a small, skilled team of machinists and technicians

    The Person:

    • Background in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Metals Manufacturing
    • Senior or Lead-level technical experience with a strong desire to move into management
    • Motivated by mentorship, succession planning, and building a long-term career within one business
