- Implements, evaluates and adjusts plan of care based on the expected patient outcome in concurrence of Registered Nurse or Nurse in Charge.
- Continues on-going reassessment of patient and documents according to established guidelines; demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines.
- Performs patient care duties as needed for proper care including patients' vital signs and dressing or wounds.
- Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge.
- Contributes to the on-going assessment and plan of care for patients and charts objectively.
- Administers specified medication according to established procedures and notes time and amount on patients' charts.
- Collects specimens, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing and may perform routing laboratory tests on samples.
- Utilize concepts of age/developmental stages in interactions with patients and families.
- Adheres to all Hospital Policies and Procedures, specifically Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct, Corporate Compliance, Diversity, and Confidentiality.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing
- Hold an active Louisiana State License.
- One year experience in an acute care setting, preferred.
- BLS-Healthcare provider. Current CPR certification.
