    Description

    Job Title: Nursing Assistant at Erlanger



    Job Summary: Performs specific nursing tasks under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. A healthcare professional without a license employed by Erlanger responsible for direct and/or indirect patient care.



    Educational Requirements:

    • Required: Nursing student close to completing the RN or LPN program.


    Experience:

    • Required: Understanding of nursing principles, medical background.


    Position Requirements - License/Certification/Registration:

    • Required: Completion of BLS before starting and must be kept up to date.


    Department Position Summary:

    • The employee should have the skills to provide appropriate care based on the patients' age in North Wing Seven, focusing on internal medicine, diabetes, metabolic issues, cerebral vascular conditions, and telemetry.
    • Ability to handle patients needing insulin drips, cardiac monitoring, cerebral vascular assessments, and other medical treatments as per the unit's protocols.
    • Understanding of growth and development principles across different ages to deliver age-specific care.
    • Ability to assist RNs with patient care, daily activities, and equipment operation.
    • Capability to work as a Patient Care Technician when required.
