    **Job Summary:**

    We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor who will assist in managing the maintenance team and lead the team in performing diagnostic troubleshooting on all hotel equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor will also be in charge of monitoring quality of repairs and identifying building repair issues.

    **Primary Duties & Responsibilities**

    • Allocate workload and supervise maintenance staff.
    • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
    • Monitor electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems of facilities to ensure functionality.
    • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
    • Maintain maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
    • Ensure that designated buildings and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive. support/solutions when required.
    • Ensure health and safety policies are complied with.
    • Perform preventative maintenance to systems and rooms

    Note that this is not an inclusive list and team members are at times asked to assist with other tasks to best serve the business. Other tasks may be assigned by the Chief Engineer or other managers.

    **Job Requirements**

    Education & Experience:

    • High school diploma or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge, or abilities
    • Universal EPA certification
    • 2 to 3 years maintenance. Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role.
    • Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)
    • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
    • Understanding of budgeting and performance management.
    • Excellent planning and leadership abilities.
    • An eye for detail.
    • Familiar with the industry's best practices.

    Skills & Abilities:

    • Commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence.
    • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems
    • Ability to keep track of and report on activity
    • Experience in planning maintenance operations
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent leadership and management skills
    • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff members
    • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
    • Ability to read, speak and understand English in order to follow directions, and procedures, and communicate with the team.

    **Working Conditions**

    Equipment to Be Used:

    • Computer using Google Apps, ADP, HelloShift
    • Door Lock System (Assa Abloy)
    • In Room TV and Casting (Televue)
    • Various power tools, hand tools and ladders

    Physical & Mental Requirements:

    • Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires
    • Professionally communicate with guests, management, and team members.
    • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk or hear. Often required to reach above head and shoulder height. Must be able to bend, kneel, and twist. Must be able to use a stepladder.
    • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard engineering tools and machines.
    • Must be able to work in hazardous conditions with attention to maintaining safety standards.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and depth perception. Requires normal range of hearing.
    • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 75 pounds without assistance.
    • Must be able to stand and/or walk for an extended period and/or for an entire shift.
    • Must be willing to work outdoors at times in adverse weather conditions.

    Work Environment:

    Often wear protective attire, such as work gloves, hard hats, leather aprons, back support, and sturdy boots. Usually work indoors, but may on occasion work outdoors repairing foundations and exteriors. Work in hazardous situations or with hazardous equipment. Injuries are possible from electrical shocks, cuts, or falls. Are often exposed to machine sounds and noises that are distracting and uncomfortable. Work with contaminants often such as oils, solvents, and paints. May be exposed to very hot or cold temperatures weekly. Enter cramped workplaces monthly that require getting into awkward positions. Are sometimes in high places such as roofs or on ladders. Work in conditions of bright or inadequate lighting weekly. May work near others.

    Location:

    • Located at 19 Vendue Range, Charleston, SC 29401, The Vendue is in the heart of Charleston's French Quarter and Art District.
    • Steps away from Waterfront Park, Charleston City Market, and Rainbow Row, along with other historic attractions, shopping, and dining.

    Hourly Pay:

    • $20.00 per hour full-time. Overtime will be paid at time and a half for any hours over 40 in a week.
    • Sign-on bonus: $250 awarded after 3 months of employment and an additional $250 will be awarded after 6 months of employment.
