Role: Senior Firmware Engineer

Salary: $170,000

Location: North-Ramsey

A renowned client of ours in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to contribute to the advancement of the next generation of appliances.

In this role, the Senior Firmware Engineer will engage in schematic design reviews, make software architecture decisions, and implement Software Engineering best practices to develop automated test codes and procedures. Collaboration with the Hardware Development Team and manufacturers will be essential in transforming concepts into delivered products. The integration of hardware and firmware presents challenges, yet it is a rewarding aspect of Product Development. Success in this role hinges on efficiently testing hardware/firmware with fixtures for production.

Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the design and advancement of product firmware utilizing microcontrollers and RTOS.

• Supervise the development of PCB artwork, design, and schematics, overseeing fabrication, assembly, and testing processes.

• Establish and manage connections with vendors, factories, and external stakeholders to foster effective collaboration.

• Offer direction in crafting user manuals, test procedures, and thorough project documentation.

• Enforce stringent unit testing and application testing procedures.

• Take charge of the technical aspects of the Marketing Requirements Document (MRD).

• Create and revise product specifications, Acceptance Test procedures (ATP), and user interface definitions.

Skills and Proficiencies:

• Skilled in microcontroller and RTOS-based firmware development using C or C++language.

• Proficient in utilizing test equipment for troubleshooting PCB assembly. Sound comprehension of reading schematic and layout of PCB design.

• Proficient communication and coordination with vendors and factories.

• Extensive background in crafting user manuals and detailed test procedures.

• Strong commitment to meticulous project documentation and comprehensive unit/application testing.

• Demonstrated expertise in translating marketing requirements into detailed technical specifications.
