    SAIC is actively seeking a Senior Education Specialist to join our team in Fort Knox, KY.

    The applicant will support the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) School of Cadet Command (JSOCC) Education and Curriculum Division.

    The Senior Education Specialist will assist the staff with current and trending K-12 curriculum initiatives in the secondary learning environment.

    Plan, prepare, teach and assess Instructors on education topics in-resident certification training for the HQ, JROTC Directorate.

    The senior education specialist will serve as a liaison between JROTC and academia on such topics as common core state standards, career and technical education, teaching with technology, and the instructional design process as it relates to the secondary education environment.

    The senior education specialist will also support approximately nine regional workshops to train related education and curriculum topics. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in effective facilitation, k-12 education, and adult education.
    The qualified applicant will be responsible for the following:

    Facilitation of class and workshop learning environments for adult learners.
    Assessment of training needs through surveys, focus groups, or consultation with organizational staff and classroom teachers.
    Travel to attend meetings, obtain information for use in training programs or to inform management of training program status.
    Development of alternative training methods if expected improvements are not observed.
    Evaluation of training materials such as syllabi, learning plans, and lesson plans.

    Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
    Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.


    Required Clearance:


    Must be able to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to employment; must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance to maintain employment.


    Required Skills:
    Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design principles is required.
    Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

    Candidate must have exceptional presentation/facilitation skills with the ability to engage adult audiences, present content clearly using examples and analogies to achieve learning objectives and apply a variety of instructional techniques such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, or lectures to real world situations.

    Must have excellent time management, organizational, emotional intelligence, and multi-tasking skills.
    Knowledge of secondary education instructional strategies and learning principles is required.
