Primary Responsibilities
We are currently searching for a Senior Structural Project Engineer for our Los Angeles office, who will report directly to the office Structural Lead.
The primary external duties include:
represent HDR in the engineering community and participate in speaking engagements. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Attend project interviews and help craft project proposals.
The primary internal duties include:
Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects,and resolve complex problems of great scope.
Plan, organize and supervise work of junior staff of professionals and technicians while providing mentorship. Lead project teams in the execution of work.
Additionally, Senior Structural Engineer needs to be a conceptual thinker who can engage with our architectural designers at the early stages of projects to inform the conceptual design.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelors in Civil or Structural Engineering required
10+ years in the design of engineering systems for multistory buildings
California PE required.
Proficient in Steel, Concrete and Masonry Analysis and Design
Strong background in seismic design
Excellent leadership and organizational skills
Strong communication and listening skills
Proficient in RAM Structural systems or CSI (ETABS, SAP, or SAFE) products
Proficient in navigating in Revit environment
Ability to handle multiple assignments
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree in Structural Engineering is preferred
California SE license preferred
Design experience with ASCE 41 is a plus
OSHPD / HKAI experience preferred
