- Lead the planning, management, and execution of geotechnical projects
- Develop engineering scope of work and fee estimates
- Communicate effectively with clients, business partners, subconsultants, and Schnabel team members
- Selection, installation, troubleshooting, and data interpretation of geotechnical instrumentation
- Scheduling and coordination, during assessment, design, and construction phases
- Perform design calculations, engineering analyses, and construction drawings, and specifications
- Interpretation of soil boring logs, geotechnical instrumentation data, previous design reports, and laboratory test data, and development of design and construction recommendations
- Drafting reports, graphics, charts, and boring logs. Some field work and travel will be required for geotechnical explorations, site reconnaissance visits, and/or construction observation
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 5+ years of relevant geotechnical experience in consulting
- Licensed Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain within 6 months, and ability to obtain reciprocity in other states.
- Experience conducting geotechnical laboratory testing in accordance with AASHTO and ASTM Standards
- Experience with interpreting geotechnical laboratory and geotechnical instrumentation data
- Project Management Experience
- Familiar with heavy civil construction means and methods
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Strong professional work ethic and desire to perform at a high level
- Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary, multi-office team
- Attention to detail and well-organized
- Willingness and ability to travel
- Master's Degree or higher in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering
- Prior experience with geotechnical transportation related design and familiar with AASHTO codes
- Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
- Ability to pass a pre-employment screening

Job Responsibilities:
