    Do you enjoy developing people and have experience in selling consumer home improvement products or projects? Are you enthusiastic about guiding homeowners through the transformation of their home spaces? If so, we want you to join us as a Design Advisor Manager.

    Your key role will be to build a team that will guide and inspire homeowners as they work on their building and improvement projects, focusing on bringing in more daylight and fresh air.

    VELUX is on an exciting journey to enhance homes by incorporating daylight and fresh air designs into renovation and remodeling projects.

    As a Design Advisor Manager, you and your team will advise and guide our customers, both virtually and personally, on VELUX options and designs.

    Your team will be their primary contact from the initial idea to the final installation.


    Your Responsibilities:


    Based at our new office in Los Gatos, CA, you will build a new consumer services department and work to develop a team of highly innovative and skilled colleagues.

    This team of Design Advisors will act as personal advisor for our customers - by phone, email, and virtual consultations.

    Based on dialogue and materials provided by the customers, they will identify customers' expectations and needs, understand the project scope, and offer relevant design advice for the building project - thereby also driving sales.


    More specifically, you will:
    Assist in implementing sales and marketing strategies.
    Develop a team of Design Advisors including selection, employee development and performance reviews.

    Assist in training Design Advisors on the full understanding of project's requirements, aesthetics, functionality, and budget, including product and service information to simplify the building process.

    Be able to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, while monitoring the progress of each, and assure they continue to progress to completion.

    Complete required KPI reporting and analysis in a timely manner.
    It is critical that you are capable of effective communication skills and nurturing genuine relationships.
    Take full ownership of the customer's journey and experience.

    You have lead teams that are service-minded and have a passion for delivering high quality and commercially focused interactions with customers.

    Through your leadership and effective communication skills, your team successfully tapped into customer needs and offered solutions.
    You enjoy an outgoing role and with your interpersonal skills you easily build effective relationships and team continuity. You connect with employees and your approach creates trust.

    You actively coach, recommend, and guide the way, but you understand that to succeed, you need to be an even stronger listener.

    With your structured approach and attention to details, you never lose sight of employee challenges, and the need to deliver agreed upon KPI's while achieving the customer project goals.


    Furthermore, you:
    Have a team mindset and demonstrate solid leadership skills.

    Possess a sales-mindset and the ability to coach on closing a sale and at the same time ensure that the customer is getting the best possible solution.

    Demonstrate well-developed questioning techniques to ensure in-depth understanding of customer needs.
    Have a curious mind-set and are excited to learn about our product portfolio and offerings.
    Have solid IT-skills and experience working with Customer Record Management (CRM) systems.
    Have extensive written and verbal communication skills.

    Starting Monthly Salary Range:
    $9482 - $11,850
