Description
Summary These positions are for a new daily breakfast and lunch operation that opened. It will be open Monday-Friday for breakfast and lunch service(s). Responsibilities Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items.Working alone or with the assistance of a higher-grade cook or supervisor, prepares a variety of foods and desserts according to menu requirements.
Brings prepared foods from preparation area to refrigerators or serving area. Picks up items needed for menu preparation, rotating food inventories as appropriate. Takes inventory to determine ordering requirements. Check food for appropriate preparation, temperature, and packaging.Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualified candidates will possess the following:
a minimum of six (6) months of work experience preparing a variety of menu items including regular and special diet entrees and dessert items fairly independently (without more than normal supervision), AND work experience using kitchen appliances and equipment, AND work experience carving, preparing garnishes, and assembling attractive platters, salads, and other food presentations, AND knowledge of food borne illnesses, food safety, and proper storage methods for hot and cold food items in order to prevent spoilage, AND the ability to read and understand written food material, labels, recipes, and instructions, AND the ability to speak and write in the English language

FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible (this Flexible position is NOT defined as Regularly Scheduled) employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts.
A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400.
A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will NOT be paid.
