    Job DescriptionOverview:

    Perform destructive and non-destructive audits on work in progress and finished goods to determine quality levels and provide feedback to all members of production and management.

    Conduct audits and investigations to find root causes of finished goods defects while maintaining the highest safety, quality, cost and GMP standards.

    Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest safety, food safety and quality, cost and GMP standards in a high-speed manufacturing environment.


    Basic Purpose:


    Under supervision, the Quality Control Technician assists with performing onsite product and equipment inspections, verifications, and testing to ensure the overall safety of food products manufactured within the facility.

    Secondary duties include, but are not restricted to, maintaining ongoing documentation and data entry of all testing processes and results.

    Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest safety, food safety and quality, cost and GMP standards in a high-speed manufacturing environment.


    Job Responsibilities:


    Performs various HACCP verifications on all assigned products and escalates any issues of non-compliance for further testing and reviewMonitors process testing for individual ingredients and raw material prior to use in full production, employing sensory testing, as needed Conducts required steps for proper sanitation of all manufacturing equipment and/or verifies cleanliness for proper useMaintain accurate documentation and reporting of all testing measures and associated results within internal reporting and/or tracking systemsAssists with multiple internal and external facility audits requirements to verify compliance with customers and/or 3rd parties, as directed by ManagerCollects data from various forms and reports and enters relevant data into internal databases and spreadsheetsAssist with SQF employee training on a regular basisResponsible for reporting food safety and quality issues and initiate action, as necessaryFollow all Food Safety guidelines, such as, but not limited to:GMP's, Allergen Program, HACCP, Sanitation, SafetyOther duties as assignedQualificationsSkills/Knowledge/Abilities: High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Science background a plusOne to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceIntermediate or above knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel software programs.

    Able to develop and maintain spreadsheetsAbility to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos, checklists, forms, and equipment instruction manuals that are written in EnglishAbility to calculate figures, analyze reports, determine processing rates, work with percentages, and apply basic algebra and geometryAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructionsStrong safety recordBilingual English/Spanish highly preferredAbility to meet attendance guidelinesAbility to work flexible hours (including some weekends and overtime) to perform all duties and responsibilitiesAbility to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs.
