    Overview

    Founded by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center located in Kearney, Nebraska. **CHI Health Good Samaritan** is equipped with an advanced level trauma center, AirCare emergency helicopter transport, and an ambulance program catering to long-distance and local 911 services. We also provide a range of services including cardiac care, open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.

    Responsibilities

    Our team of Respiratory Therapists are well-trained to deliver specialized respiratory care services such as ventilator management, nebulizer treatment, chest PT, drawing arterial blood gases, oxygen therapies, external ventilation support, and pulmonary function assessments. If you have a strong passion for respiratory care, this is your opportunity to join our accomplished team as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.


    Applying Your Knowledge and Talents:

    • Assess and evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy based on patients' age, cognitive and physical abilities, and/or developmental needs
    • Make recommendations for changes in specific modes of therapy
    • Educate patients and coordinate home respiratory care services and patient therapy follow-up assessments utilizing suitable language and materials based on age, cognitive and physical abilities, and/or developmental needs
    • Take ownership of personal and professional development by engaging in department meetings, in-service programs, and continuous education initiatives
    • Adhere to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives related to quality assurance, safety, environmental conditions, and infection control
    Qualifications


    Requirements:

    • Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Respiratory program
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensing from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 1 year of employment
    • Active license in the state of Nebraska as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
