- Assists surgeons with various technical functions to ensure safe operations and optimal results for patients
- Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, attends to patients' direct care needs
- Anticipates the needs of the surgical team and maintains a professional attitude towards patient safety and privacy
- Performs surgical assisting functions under the direction of a licensed physician, assisting with OR preparation, end of case activities, draping patients, and maintaining a sterile field
- Provides assistance in maintaining hemostasis, closure of wound layers, and other surgical procedures as directed
- Demonstrates competency in patient care, safety protocols, and communication skills to enhance teamwork
- Participates in mandatory department education and facility call rotations
- Minimum three years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques, surgical anatomy, and infection control
- Knowledge of surgical theory, clinical dexterity, and patient safety practices
- Educational background in Surgical Technology or related field
- Current certification in CSFA, CSA, or SA-C and maintenance of licensure as a Surgical First Assistant
