    Responsibilities


    Job Requirements :
    Health Technologists and Technicians, All Other

    Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Cytotechnologist, or other certification equal in academic and clinical requirements.

    B.S degree from an accredited university/college with twelve semester hours of science, including Biology.
    Successful completion of a twelve month AMA accredited Cytotechnology program.
    Successful completion of certification examination.

    Required Skills:
    Ability to accurately perform cytological procedures.
    Knowledge of cytological quality control methods.
    Knowledge of accreditation requirements for cytology.
    Ability to get along with others.

    Qualifications


    Experience with processing and screening of GYN & NonGYN ThinPrep Cytology; FNA collection quick preparation and screening; retention of patient samples and documents; quality assurance and control procedures; data entry into information systems; and maintenance of educational requirements.

    Travel between network facilities may be necessary for the support of patient FNA collections or educational activities.
