    Summary



    This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.



    Duties


    This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT & will remain open until March 24, 2024, or until all positions are filled. The first cut-off date is February 21, 2024. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on a as-needed basis until positions are filled.

    • Supervises and evaluates the activities of other team members while simultaneously executing immediate directives and interventions in urgent or emergent situations.
    • Having a practice environment with a minimum of one perioperative RN circulator dedicated to each patient undergoing an operative or other invasive procedure for the duration of the procedure will provide for safe, quality patient care in the surgical arena.
    • Delegates certain nursing tasks and functions, such as the scrub role to LPNs and surgical technologists; nursing interventions such as circulating duties that require independent, specialized nursing knowledge, skill or judgment cannot be delegated.
    • Along with the Scrub tech is responsible for visually and verbally verifying the sterility of the instruments and supplies used during the procedure.
    • Checks and monitors equipment used during the procedure.
    • Uses word processing software to execute several office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files; inserting and deleting text, formatting letters, reports, and memoranda; and transmitting and receiving email.
    • Uses the Veterans Health Information and Technology Architecture (VistA) to access information in the Medical Center Computer System.
    Work Schedule: Various shifts available with "on call" and Holiday rotations required, including 11:00am-7:30pm and 1200pm-8:30pm. Permanent shift is determined after orientation.
