    Description

    The Night Physician is responsible for admitting, as well as responding to the needs of, patients admitted to the hospital to ensure that patient care is delivered in an efficient and effective manner.

    He/She prioritizes to identify opportunities for improving patient outcomes, contributes to timely hospital discharges, and facilitates communication with PCPs, specialists, hospital staff, patients and families.

    He/She collaborates with the hospital interdisciplinary team to improve efficiency and facilitate progression through the continuum of care for patients.

    The Night Physician is expected to perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.

    Using talents and resources responsibly, our medical staff, employees and volunteers provide care for the whole person with compassion, professional excellence, and respect for each other and those we serve.

    Communicates with Physicians from outside facilities to ensure safe patient transfers/direct admissions.

    Works in conjunction with the Nurse Practitioners and other staff in coordinating care delivery in the most efficient manner.

    Processes billing on all admissions and ensures proper documentation and assignment of ICD-10 codes.
    Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

    The most significant of duties are included but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned or developmental duties.
