- Education or bachelors in marketing degree, public relations degree or communications degree preferred
- Previous experience in marketing, fundraising and/or special events
- Excellent verbal and communication and interpersonal skills
- Great organizational skills and the ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines
- Proficient computer skills including: Microsoft Office, and Social Media
- Experience with integrated business management tools and CRM software, Salesforce experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and collaboratively with all levels of staff, participants and community members, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive communication strategies to enhance outreach efforts and visibility for A Free Bird.
- Engage with diverse stakeholders to foster collaboration and implement effective communication strategies.
- Drive community outreach initiatives to effectively convey A Free Bird's message, visibility, and mission.
- Utilizing multiple communication channels to reach varied audiences and convey messages effectively.
- Applying exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Work towards reaching a diverse and extensive audience, considering various demographic factors. Ensure that communication strategies consider factors such as gender identity, national origin, veteran status, and socioeconomic status.
- Contributing to efforts aimed at increasing A Free Bird's visibility within the served communities, to align outreach efforts with broader communication goals.
- Monitor the effectiveness of communication strategies and make adjustments as needed.
- Generate reports on outreach activities, outcomes, and areas for improvement.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Prepare and edit organizational publications for internal and external audiences.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumer, employee, and public interest groups.
- Mandatory commitment is based on position level.

Outreach Coordinator for Communications
A Free Bird is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization based in New York City. Our organization provides children diagnosed with cancer the opportunity to explore their artistic passions. Artistic expression has been proven to play an instrumental role in the healing process. We support children affected by cancer in their exploration of a range of self expression such as art, music, acting, poetry, writing, singing and other creative mediums.
Job Summary:
An Outreach Coordinator for Communications assumes the responsibility of developing, implementing, and maintaining communication strategies aimed at enhancing A Free Bird's outreach efforts and visibility within served communities. Serving as a pivotal member of the communications team, the coordinator engages with diverse stakeholders to foster collaboration, implement effective strategies, and drive community outreach initiatives. Utilizing multiple communication channels, the coordinator adeptly conveys A Free Bird's message, visibility, and mission, showcasing exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills. Furthermore, the role involves a commitment to ensuring that communications reach a diverse and extensive audience, taking into account factors such as gender identity, national origin, veteran status, and socioeconomic status.
