Position Overview
We are seeking a professional, organized, and compassionate Patient Coordinator / Front Desk team member to join our busy Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and play a key role in delivering an exceptional patient experience.
Dental experience is required. Experience with oral surgery and Open Dental software is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in/check out patients in a warm, professional manner
- Answer multi-line phones and manage appointment scheduling efficiently
- Verify dental insurance benefits and obtain pre-authorizations
- Present treatment plans and discuss financial arrangements
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the system
- Coordinate with clinical team to ensure smooth patient flow
- Manage referrals and communicate with referring offices
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality
Qualifications
- Required: Minimum 1 year of dental front office experience
- Preferred: Oral surgery experience
- Preferred: Experience with Open Dental software
- Strong understanding of dental insurance, billing, and treatment coordination
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
