    Description:
    The Imaging Care Assistant in Radiology, under the guidance of a procedures coordinator, observes assigned patients in the holding room, promptly informing modality personnel of any necessary assistance or changes. The ICA facilitates communication between modality staff and patients regarding imaging procedures.


    Position entails 20 hours per week with varied shifts, perfect for those looking to gain entry-level experience.


    St. Joseph offers a wide range of radiology services, including minimally invasive interventional procedures, combining clinical expertise with cutting-edge technologies. Our imaging centers hold accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR), reflecting our commitment to leadership, integrity, quality, and innovation.

    We actively participate in the ACR's Image Wisely and Image Gently campaigns, advocating for radiation safety in medical imaging for both adults and children.


    REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE
    • Education: High school diploma or GED


    • Experience: No experience required. Successful completion of a formal department orientation is necessary to meet job standards.


    • Certification: BLS required


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Supervises inpatients and ED patients upon arrival at the department before imaging procedures. Provides continuous observation.
    • Introduces self to patients/families, explains role to maintain a safe environment.
    • Offers prompt feedback to radiology staff on patient responses. Conveys and receives reports from other caregivers.
    • Responds promptly to patient requests, informs them about procedures to alleviate fears and encourage cooperation.
    • Conducts patient care functions using Cerner PowerChart systems and RAdnet system.
    • Records patient data accurately in appropriate areas.
    • Assists in patient transportation as needed.
    • Monitors and restocks supplies when required.
    • Exhibits strong organizational and time management skills. Performs delegated unit-specific duties.
    • Actively seeks learning opportunities through in-services, continued education, and required programs.
    • Attends radiation safety in-services as mandated by modality, ensuring awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
