    POSITION DETAILS:EVSC Behavior Technicians work throughout the school year, beginning one day before begins and ending on the last day of school. Enjoy your summers off The schedule is 5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day and follows the EVSC School Board of Trustees approved school calendar. This includes 29 paid hoildays throughout the school year

    Additionally, Behavior Technicians follow a salary schedule that provides an annual increase every year SALARY:YearHourly Rate1$17.312$18.223$19.154$20.065$20.996$21.537$22.078$22.619$23.1510$23.6911$24.2312$24.77

    Annual, incremental pay increases are given for each year of service with the EVSC in this role. The hourly rate for a current EVSC assistant will be based on years of service with EVSC in an assistant role.

    The hourly rate for a current EVSC assistant will be based on years of service with EVSC in a paraprofessional role. Annual, incremental pay increases are given for each year of service with the EVSC in this role if an employee has worked 120 days in a school year. BENEFITS:EVSC offers four Anthem medical insurance plans. You can select a plan that is best for you. Single medical, dental and vision insurance are provided with this position. If elected, insurance coverage begins the first of the month following the successful completion of a 30-day probationary period.

    Employees enrolled in an EVSC medical insurance plan are eligible to use any of the three EVSC Health & Wellness Centers. The health clinics provide primary care services, generic prescription medications, physicals, health screenings, and labs; all at NO COST to the employee or covered family member.

    EVSC is proud to provide accumulated paid time off for:
    • 12 Sick days are provided annually and accumulate each year
    • 29 Holidays
    • 3 Personal Business Days are provided annually and accumulate each year
    • Snow Days: Stay at home on a snow day and receive pay
    EVSC employees have access to the EVSC Wee Care Learning Centers. The Wee Care program provides a quality early learning experience for employees' children as young as six weeks through age five at a special employee rate.

    This position will automatically be enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). Employees may also participate in a 403(b) Plan. Enrolling in the 403(b) plan allows employees to save for their retirement by making a pre-tax salary deferral contributions to the Plan.

    Eligible employees may enroll in the EVSC group life insurance and long term disability plans. EVSC also offers a variety of voluntary insurance products through American Fidelity.

    EVSC offers a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP). It is a confidential, voluntary service that provides professional counseling and referral services designed to help employees and their family members with personal, job or family-related matters.REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or GED required. Additionally, all new employees are required to complete required online professional development within 60 days of employment. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:This position is based upon student enrollment in this school building. Fluctuating student enrollment may make it necessary to move an employee to another school building or reduction in hours. Enrollment is evaluated at the start of a new school year. The EVSC works diligently to ensure employees maintain the position that they are hired for but in some cases, transfers may occur in order to effectively serve EVSC students.

    SUMMARY:

    Supports teaching staff in providing delegated components of a student's function-based behavior plan and/or behavior intervention plan as defined in an IEP, recording student behavior, as well as provides direct support in developing and ensuring a safe, supportive and positive learning environment for all students and staff. The behavior technician may provide academic instruction under the supervision of the lead teacher.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Other duties may be assigned.
    • Actively supervise students with intensive behavioral needs, throughout the school day including classroom and non classroom activities
    • Demonstrate proficiency and skill in providing support to students including but not limited to; CR-PBIS practices, de-escalation, teaching and practicing positive coping skills and self-regulation, conflict resolution, and problem solving skills.
    • Support students by proficiently utilizing CR-PBIS practices, de-escalation, teaching and practicing positive coping skills and self-regulation, conflict resolution, and problem solving skills.
    • Assist teacher and administration in routine classroom operation, i.e., academic support, PE class, etc.
    • Follows all EVSC policies and procedures as it relates to Safe Crisis Management.
    • Proficiently perform the tools and procedures as outlined in Safe Crisis Management when necessary.
    • Collect student level data under the supervision of the SEL specialist or teacher of record.
    • Once certified, is responsible for maintaining professional development, credentialing, and practice in Safe Crisis Management and EVSC Behavior Technician certification.
    • Obtain EVSC medication administration certification
    • Enter data into tracker.
    • Maintain good attendance.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    (A) Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education; or

    (B) obtained an associate's degree (or higher)

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    Must be able to pass the EVSC behavior technician certification, with at least 80% mastery, including demonstrating proficiency in all tested components of Safe Crisis Management, including seated kneeling.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general written material, professional journals, and state and governmental regulations.
    • Ability to write reports, behavior plans, behavior goals, correspondence and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of educators, parents or general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
    • Ability to score and interpret rating scales.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

    • The job also requires sitting in small chairs, working at small tables, and the ability to carry heavy materials to and from buildings.
    • The job will requires quick movement and the ability to protect self and student from physical harm using techniques taught through Safe Crisis Management. Must be able to perform all physical interventions proficiently as taught through the Safe Crisis Management certification course.
    • The employee must be able to push items of 50 pounds or more, such as pushing materials on a cart.
