- Develop and coordinate the activities of the Department of Surgery student education program. Implement policies and procedures relating to program administration, including preparation and collection of rotation request forms for upcoming third year medical students. Assign ward rotations for junior and senior students. Prepare and send assignment packets to students in timely and accurate manner.
- Provide administrative support to two faculty members with correspondence, internal documents, manuscripts, calendars, reports, and other duties as requested.
- Coordinate and administer, in consultation with the Clerkship Director and Office of Undergraduate Medical Education, the timely accurate and complete implementation of regulatory procedures for medical students in their rotations.
- Maintain all grades and evaluations on each student. Transfer data to individual Deans grade sheets and prepare for signature. Report grades to Dean's Office and students in timely manner.
- Order, organize and proctor all exams for third year medical students, and senior honors students.
- Manage Oral Exam Days for department. Coordinate participation and attendance of faculty and students; assign and maintain exam day schedule; collect, audit and account for all paperwork from students. Facilitate Oral Exam grading sessions with faculty.
- Liaise between Dean's office, hospitals, faculty, and students regarding particulars of the clerkship in accordance with the LCME.
