Senior Firearms and Composite Design Engineer

Location: Central Utah - Relocation Help Available

Job Responsibilities:

As a key member of our Manufacturing Team, the Senior Firearms and Composite Design Engineer will be responsible for leading design efforts from inception to production for both new product development and improvement of existing products.

Main Responsibilities:

Create and/or modify designs using CAD (SolidWorks) with lean manufacturing principles and design for ease of manufacturing and customer satisfaction in mind.
Conduct tolerance analysis studies to ensure parts fit and function properly.
Lead and participate in design and process reviews as required.
Work with production personnel to dissect and solve design issues and implement cost reduction ideas.
Prepare technical documents such as test procedures, technical reports, component manuals, etc.
Present product proposals to marketing, sales, and management as required.
Interact with vendors concerning parts they supply or propose to supply to the company.
Coordinate internally with marketing, sales, purchasing, quality control, production, and other departments as required.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Firearms design and manufacturing experience preferred.
Composite design and manufacturing experience.
Lean manufacturing and Lean product development experience.
Good understanding of various typical firearm manufacturing processes.
Spring design experience.
High-speed video analysis.
At least 10 years of design and composite engineering experience, preferably in the firearm industry.
