- Report any irregularities in golf course turf quality to Management.
- Monitor and water the golf course regularly, including greens, tees, and fairways.
- Repair and maintain the irrigation system, including pipes and irrigation heads, as needed.
- Assist with irrigation construction and maintenance work as required.
- Perform periodic general and preventative maintenance on irrigation systems.
- Complete requests for irrigation/course parts and supplies
- Operate dump trucks and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris.
- Occasionally supervises a small team for special projects and performs other duties as directed by Management.
- Respond to all irrigation requests in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties, as assigned by Property or Corporate Management
- Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines, including the use of proper PPE as required by OSHA laws when performing work duties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety:
- Back support belt, protective gloves and eye protection may be required on rare occasions
- Ergonomically correct workstation - please report any deficiencies
- High School/2-year College Degree
- 3 to 5 years of golf course irrigation operation experience
- Working knowledge of basic electrical and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, as well as various types of pumps and pumping systems
- Understanding of agronomy, turfgrass science, and the rules of golf
- Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and landscape area maintenance work
- Ability to operate light motorized equipment.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Work in a temperature extreme environment
- Ability to finish tasks with a high degree of quality and in a timely manner.
- Be a team player.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
