    Job Description GENERAL SESSIONS COURT
    DEPUTY CLERK - CIVIL COURT Deputy Clerk 3
    $20 per hour
    35 hours per week Monday Through Friday 8am to 4pm


    .01. Process all new business over front counter related to Civil, Criminal and Traffic.

    02. Receipt fines, fees and bond payments related to Civil, Criminal and Traffic.

    03. Respond and assist with any enquires from general public, legal, law enforcement for information and inquires relating to court procedures in the assigned areas.

    04. Collect information about problems, troubleshoot, and coordinate with supervisor, as needed, to determine source of error, possible causes and solutions and follow-up for basic problems.

    05. Prepare Restricted Driver License forms and make copies for the Department of Safety.

    06. Fill out clearance forms for Department of Safety for individuals to reinstate their license.

    07. Prepare and receipt Criminal Payment Plans.

    08. Prepare Expungements, make copies, and pull file and forward to the appropriate Deputy Clerk.

    09. Prepare and make copies of court Appeals.

    10. Communicate with the Sheriff Department regarding outstanding warrants

    11. Provide answers for return of service on Civil Warrants, Garnishments, Levies, etc that an Attorney requests.

    12. Issue and file Subpoenas.

    13. Assist all Deputy Clerks with work overflow when needed.

    14. If shorthanded front counter helps answer phones and assist callers and individuals by directing them to the appropriate party, department, outside agencies and other resources.

    15. Cross train for any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor and Circuit Court Clerk.
