- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
- Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
- Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter.
- Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials. Collaborates with buyers, schedulers, and the shipping team, to ensure inventory accuracy and timely SAP transactions.
- Identify red dots and use root cause analysis tools to determine permanent solutions. Ability to use hand tools, such as tape measures, hammers, nail guns, pneumatic staplers, hoists, banding equipment, etc
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time, both indoor and outdoor
- 1-2 years' experience in shipping/ receiving preferred.
- Ability to keep material, paperwork, and transactions accurate.
- Accurate physical and computer software (SAP) receipt of product and location within the plant.
- Computer, data entry, and keyboarding skills.
- Powered industrial vehicle experience. (Forklift and pallet jacks)
- Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
