    First Landing State Park located in Virginia Beach, Virginia is seeking applicants for a Retail Merchandise Manager.

    This position is responsible for assisting the Assistant Park Manager with park retail operations. The primary purpose of the position is to manage merchandise inventory, including but not limited to maintaining accurate, current stock count, ensuring items are stocked on the retail floor, and entering inventory data into the POS system. The position will also be responsible for ensuring that merchandise items are reordered as necessary and that the retail space remain clean and organized.

    Minimum Qualifications Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to operate and explain the operation of the POS system, perform simple math and bookkeeping. Ability to maintain accurate inventory of merchandise and resale food items. Ability to restock merchandise. Good organizational skills. Ability to provide exceptional customer service

    Preferred Qualifications Special Requirements Employment in all positions within the Virginia State Parks is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check. Must be at least 18 years old, have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation. Must be able to perform manual labor requiring frequent walking, bending, standing, and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Must be willing to work weekends and evenings. No benefits are associated with wage positions. Employees are limited to, but not guarenteed, working no more than 1500 hours from May 1 to April 30th each year. Employer participates in e-Verify.
